A New Concept in Care Homes
Latest News & Events
25-07-2014 Wednesday this week, our mini-bus took a handful of our Residents to visit one of our other homes, Maids Moreton Hall in Buckinghamshire. They were warmly welcomed by the home Manager, Cheryl and her staff and stayed for a spot of lunch. In the afternoon they enjoyed some tea in the gardens. Also this week we had arranged an evening at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford to see the multi-award winning Buddy Holly Story. They had a great evening experiencing the drama, passion and excitement as a cast of phenomenally talented actors and musicians told Buddy Holly’s story.
18-07-2014 There's nothing that goes better with this weather than an ice-cream and a trip to the beach! Especially Eastbourne where our residents have been this week. When asked in our half yearly questionnaires, there was several requests for a trip to Eastbourne. We had the Mini-bus, we had the head hankies and hats, we had copious amounts of sun cream, we just needed the weather and some raring-to-go residents and this week we certainly had both! Everybody had a wonderful day with smiles all around and to top it off, a nice portion of fish and chips from Harry Ramsden's by the pier. A wonderful day in Eastbourne, as promised.
11-07-2014 The weather may have dampened but it certainly hasn't affected the atmosphere at Groveland Park this week. Whilst the weather outside has been a bit cooler (and wetter!), we have been cosy indoors in our snug Cinema room watching our favourite old time films. Not to forget the wonderful event Wednesday evening where we had a Frank Sinatra entertainer performing all of his classic tracks. He went down very well, along with the canapés!
04-07-2014 This week at Groveland, our residents had a wonderful surprise visit from Dennis, Boo, Xavi, Puffin and Leafy, who all together create 'Nightingale Dogs'. This intelligent group of entertaining canines perform a variety of tricks and talents, and not forgetting endless hugs and kisses, to enhance quality of life through visual, physical, tactile, emotional and social stimulation. Everybody absolutely loved the show and they will be back for sure, so a big thank you to Mr and Mrs Garlick for introducing us to Nightingale Dogs! We have also enjoyed outings in the minibus to Hall Place Garden Centre, Greenwich Park and have had a delicious coffee tasting morning here and the home.
27-06-2014 There's been a lot going on in Groveland Park this week, and a lot going on outside too! On Thursday our mini bus took our last group out of three, down to Herne Bay to enjoy some fresh sea air, fish and chips and ice-cream. Other outings this week have included a nice walk around Ruxley Garden Centre and also a trip down to Dartford Park to listen to a brass band play. Inside the home we have had birthday celebrations, motivation classes, monopoly and board games and not to forget music bingo! That's always one of our favourites. A happy, busy week.
