23-01-2015 This week we had one of our brilliant fortnightly evening events and it was so good before that we had him back again. Of course, we are talking about the Elvis Presley Tribute. He got our residents (and staff!) in the dancing mood and didn't disappoint whilst performing all of the Rock 'n' Roll classics. To top off the night there was a delicious BBQ buffet served throughout.
16-01-2015 Today Lee took our residents on the first outing of 2015 in the Groveland mini-bus. They visited Millbrook Garden Centre where they enjoyed the winter sun and some well-needed fresh air. The outing was assisted by a nice cup of tea to keep the residents feeling toasty. Back at the home, Paula our Bar Assistant has been hosting arts and crafts in the Bistro for a handful of our ladies as requested. They have been flaunting their creative side making flowers for display and necklaces for themselves or their loved ones.
09-01-2015 We enjoyed some brilliant events in 2014 and this year will follow in its footsteps. This week we've had our first fortnightly evening event of the year and what better way to start it other than the jukebox musical inspired act 'Dreamboats and Petticoats'. This brilliant performance included all of the popular songs from the 50's and early 60's and had the home in full swing. This had us all excited for the events to follow, you had better put on your blue suede shoes for the next one... 21st January, not to miss!
02-01-2015 We started the year in style here at Groveland Park with a glamorous performance from the lovely Diane Moore. Sporting a floor length sequin dress, Diane sang all of the popular old time classics and had everyone singing along and dancing. The New Years Eve party was accompanied by a Champagne toast and a party food buffet. Happy New Year from all at Groveland Park.
24-12-2014 We've been waiting all year for this week to arrive and it's finally here. The events and activities along with the atmosphere has been brilliantly festive this week with a visit from Father Christmas Monday morning who come to give all of our residents early presents and in the afternoon a talented saxophonist played some classic carols. Not to forget Tuesday evening; we had one of our fortnightly evening events and its was A Night at the Opera indeed! This brilliant performance finished off the years events programme in style with Jackie Pitman who took us on a musical journey. Christmas Canapés served throughout. Merry Christmas Everyone.
