17-04-2014 There are times in everybody's life when we could all do with a lesson on certain things but never did we think we would see the day when our 100 year old resident would be learning how to use an ipad from a 5 year old! It just goes to show how generations have changed and how technology has grown. It was an absolute wonder to witness and both parties really enjoyed each others company. Simply Amazing! Our other residents enjoyed a beautifully sunny day out in Greenwich park. They stopped off for a coffee and cake while the soaked up the sun. what a lovely way to spend the day.
11-04-2014 We have had a brilliant week in the sun & the evening entertainment blew everybody away! The lovely Diane Moore came and set up a back drop with strobe lights and a dazzling set of costume changes as she sung the night away. The residents were tapping their feet and waving their flags to the all so familiar songs that took them all back in time. In and amongst all the excitement there was a delicious sea food buffet that went down a treat. Later on in the week the gentlemen here had a 'lads lunch' out. It was the perfect way to get them all together to enjoy a pub lunch and a game of pool with a beer in hand. It has been a really lovely week at Groveland park.
04-04-2014 This week has been very busy for everyone at Groveland Park. We have had a belated St Patricks night, Our very first residents 92nd Birthday celebration, Lunches out at the Kitchenette in Bexleyheath, Coffee mornings and much more. It has been one big party and the food has been absolutely on point to match the events we have had. One comment from a family member read "Absolutely fantastic night, the music was wonderful and the food was great'. Our Next event is Thursday 10th April 2014 - Land of Hope & Glory with Diane Moore a female vocalist. We look forward to singing the night away with you for 'one night only'.
28-03-2014 This week we have had a combination of different activities going on in the home. Some of the residents had a bowling competition, commentated and scored by our activities manager and I have to say at points it got quite intense! It was a lovely change and the ladies really enjoyed themselves. To end the week on a high we had a Broadway show come in and sing the roof off the home. One of our ladies has said she was 'absolutely marvellous and well worth having again'. We hope to see you all at our Belated St. Patricks night.
21-03-2014 The resident certainly learnt a few dance moves with Rebecca And Aharon at the event night on Friday. Everybody was up wiggling their hips and tapping their feet to all kinds of exotic dances including, latin, swing, salsa, tango and jive as well as the more classic ballroom dance. it was a wonderful night enjoyed by all who came. Our next event is a St. Patricks night celebration with the fabulous D'Arcy Duo, so make sure you pop along!
